Day Twelve, Thursday

October 24, 2013
From West Bend to Pike Lake State Park

It was slow going today. I think I did 11 miles, but it took six and a quarter hours. So that’s just under 2 miles per hour. I took a lot of breaks. But I’m learning to endure.

Mass today was with Fr. Nathan Reesman. I got a little bit of a late start because of having breakfast with some ladies of the parish. Met some people along the way and had some conversations. But it was a day of endurance.

Hope tomorrow will be more fulfilling. I look forward to the end, but at the same time will miss these walks and those I met on it. Meeting new people and saying goodbye the next day is a lesson in detachment. But I know I have made new friends I can count on in the future.

I look forward to seeing my parishioners and others for the Stations of the Cross and Mass tomorrow at Holy Hill.

Pray with Mary. Walk with Jesus.

P.S. I’m kind of proud of myself for taking a shower outside in 35°F weather.
