Day Three of the Wisconsin Way was oh so blessed. Our day began with a lovely Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion with the community of St James Cooperstown; they were most gracious and welcoming. Sister Gerri was very kind to us. After a nourishing breakfast we laced on our shoes, packs on backs and off we went. The day was humid, overcast and threatening rain, we were grateful for the filtered sunshine. Much in need of a break from our twenty pound backpacks, we stopped for lunch at a little convenience store cafe in Kellnersville . The people there were very welcoming and interested in our pilgrimage. That is always the amazing thing about pilgrimage, you never walk it alone. Just like the journey of life, people we meet along the way are a source of blessing and inspiration and support. God touches our lives through the people we encounter each day. Refreshed from good food and meaningful conversation, we made our way toward Whitelaw. Father Kurz walked with us for part of the way, he lifted our spirits and encouraged us as we grew tired. When we got to Whitelaw, he bought us all a refreshing beverage at The Gills Bar and Grill. The community of St. Michael the Archangel welcomed us for the night and the Knights of Columbus took us to dinner. Tired and sore, we fell into bed for a good night’s sleep, grateful for all the many friends who help us along the way.
Pray with Mary, Walk with Jesus.
