Day Twelve, Thursday

From West Bend to Pike Lake State Park

It was slow going today. I think I did 11 miles, but it took six and a quarter hours. So that's just under 2 miles per hour. I took a lot of breaks. But I'm learning to endure.

Mass today was with Fr. Nathan Reesman. I got a little bit of a late start because of having breakfast with some ladies of the parish. Met some people along the way and had some conversations. But it was a day of endurance.

Hope tomorrow will be more fulfilling. I look forward to the end, but at the same time will miss these walks and those I met on it. Meeting new people and saying goodbye the next day is a lesson in detachment. But I know I have made new friends I can count on in the future.

I look forward to seeing my parishioners and others for the Stations of the Cross and Mass tomorrow at Holy Hill.

Pray with Mary. Walk with Jesus.

~Father Andrew Kurz

P.S. I'm kind of proud of myself for taking a shower outside in 35°F weather.
