Being back home at St Peter Slinger, we enjoyed a great dinner, thanks to Ann Hayden, and a good night's sleep in the Youth Room. We woke to cloudy, misty skies, with a threat of rain.

Pilgrimage Day Nine

We enjoyed Mass and a breakfast social with the community of St Francis Cabrini; many stories and experiences were shared, and Father Nathan gave us pilgrimage blessing before we began our walk for the day. The road was winding and beautiful, filled with magnificent homes and lovely farms, as we wrapped around and between Silver Lake, Little Cedar and Big Cedar Lakes.

After a good night's rest, we woke to beautiful weather. Linda dropped us back in the forest and we stopped at St Matthias Chapel to pray the Rosary and take in the beauty of that historical Chapel in the forest.

Day Six

Leaving the Mertes family early, refreshed and rejuvinated, under rainy skies, we headed a mile and half down Snake Road to Morning Mass at St Thomas Aquinas Church in Elkhart Lake. The parishioners greeted us warmly and we enjoyed worshipping with them.

Today we woke to strong thunderstorms, but after Mass and breakfast with the community of St Michael the Archangel in Whitelaw, the storms gave way to a gentle summer rain. We set out praising God for the coolness of the rain, as it soothed our sunburned bodies.
